We harvest by hand

The very best matcha tea is harvested – always by hand – just once per year, typically in May. Our premium matcha is grown and harvested by a family with 125 years of experience in Japanese regions known for the finest matcha tea on earth.

Our Delicate Production Process

Step 1: Grown in the shade. Step 2: Selectively Handpicked. Step 3: steamed & Air dried.  4: Graded for Texture & Taste. Step 5: De-stemmed & De-Veined. Step 6: Stone-ground to a fine powder.

Before each harvest, our premium matcha tea is shade-grown for the final 3-4 weeks. Once the exotic leaves are traditionally prepared, and ground to a fine tea powder, they are stored away from light and oxygen in order to preserve the brilliant green color and antioxidant properties. We then ship our matcha tea to the US, where it’s crafted, bottled and distributed with the utmost care.
